  • The New Saints 4 Bohemians 0, 20/07/2010. Park Hall Stadium, Champions League 2nd qualifying round 2nd leg. Supporters of Irish club Bohemians taking shelter from the rain under a gazebo outside Park Hall Stadium, Oswestry before their team's Champions League 2nd qualifying round 2nd leg game away to The New Saints. Despite leading 1-0 from the first leg, the Dublin club went out following their 4-0 defeat by the Welsh champions. The match was the first-ever Champions League match in the UK played on an artificial pitch and was staged at the Welsh Premier League's ground which was located over the border in England.   • A corrugated iron shelter behind the goal. Kettering Town 1 Leiston 2, Evo Stick Southern League Premier Central, Latimer Park. Kettering Town are a famous name in non-league football. After financial problems, relegations, and relocation, the club are once again upwardly mobile. Despite losing to Leiston, Kettering finished the season as Champions and were promoted to the National League North.

  • Morecambe 0 Plymouth Argyle 2, 25/03/2016. Globe Arena, League 2. A man resting in a bike shelter outside the Globe Arena before Morecambe hosted Plymouth Argyle in a League 2 fixture. The stadium was opened in 2010 and replaced Morecambe's traditional home of Christie Park which had been their home since 1921, the year after their foundation. Plymouth won this fixture by 2-0 watched by 2,081 spectators, in a game delayed by 30 minutes due to traffic congestion affecting travelling Argyle fans.  Photo by Colin McPherson.

  • Port Talbot Town 3 Caerau Ely 0, 06/02/2016. Genquip Stadium, Welsh Cup fourth round. Two turnstile operators shelter in their vandalised hut awaiting spectators before Port Talbot Town played host to Caerau Ely in a Welsh Cup fourth round tie at the Genquip Stadium, formerly known as Victoria Road. Formed by exiled Scots in 1901 as Port Talbot Athletic, they competed in local and regional football before being promoted to the League of Wales  in 2000 and changing their name to the current version a year later. Town won this tie 3-0 against their opponents from the Welsh League, one level below the welsh Premier League where Port Talbot competed, watched by a crowd of 113. Photo by Colin McPherson.

  • Bolton Wanderers 1  Blackburn Rovers 2, 17/03/2007. Reebok Stadium, Premiership. Bolton Wanderers playing Blackburn Rovers in a Premiership match at the Reebok stadium, Bolton. The home side were challenging for one of the Champions' League placings but it was Rovers who ran out 2-1 winners. Both Rovers' goals were scored from the penalty spot by Benni McCarthy.
