  • Faroe Islands 0 Scotland 2, 06/06/2007. European Championship Qualifier. The captain's armband lying amongst the Scotland team kit in the away dressing room before the Euro 2008 group B qualifying match at the Svangaskard stadium in Toftir between the Faroe Islands and Scotland. The visitors won the match by 2 goals to nil to stay in contention for a place at the European football championships which were to be held in Switzerland and Austria in the Summer of 2008. Following Kilmarnock's relegation in 2020-21, the first game of the new season is the Ayreshire Derby, the first league match between the teams in 28 years. Due to relaxation of Covid restrictions the match was played in front of a crowd of 3200 Kilmarnock fans. The game was shown live on BBC Scotland.

Stocksbridge Park Steels were born from the works team of the local British Steel plant that dominates the town north of Sheffield.<br />
Having missed out on promotion via the play offs in the previous season, Stocksbridge were hovering above the relegation zone in Northern Premier League Division One East, as they lost 0-2 to Pickering Town. Stocksbridge finished the season in 13th place.

  • Bala Town 3 FC Differdange 4, 03/08/2015. Belle Vue, Europa League. Visiting captain Philippe Lebresne is congratulated by a fan after the Europa League first qualifying round, second leg tie between Bala Town from Wales and FC Differdange 03 of Luxembourg. It was the Welsh club's second season of European competition, and due to ground regulations the match was played at nearby Belle Vue, home of Rhyl FC. The visitors won the tie 4-3 on aggregate due to a last-minute away goal by Omar Er Rafik, in a game watched by 1039 fans and progressed to play Turkish giants Trabzonspor in the next round. Home captain Mark Bower is hoisted aloft by a member of the security staff at the end of the match at The Shay, home of FC Halifax Town (in blue), on the day that they were presented with the Northern Premier League Premier Division championship trophy following their match with Mickleover Sports, which ended in a 1-1 draw in front of a crowd of 2,404. The club replaced Halifax Town A.F.C. who went into administration during the 2007–08 season, having previously been members of the Football League for 80 years. Home team captain Gareth Edwards and his players with the league trophy at The Rock, Rhosymedre, home to Cefn Druids AFC, after the club's final home game of the season against Buckley Town (in yellow) in the Cymru Alliance league. Druids, reputedly the oldest football club in Wales, won the Alliance league the previous week and were awarded the trophy after the Buckley Town match, which they won by 1 goal to nil, watched by a crowd of 246.
