Fans watching the Euro 2012 group game between Ukraine & France at Bradford Ukrainian Club. Most members of the club are descendants of the original wave of Ukrainian settlers who came to West Yorkshire during and after World War Two. The game was stopped after 4 minutes due to a thunderstorm and resumed 55 minutes later. Ukraine lost 0-2. A six month old boy in Ukrainian colours plays with his Grandfather. The game was delayed by 55 minutes due to an electrical storm. France won 2-0. Bradford has a sizable Ukrainian community, mainly descendants of people who came to work in the textile industry in the mid 20th Century. Since 2022 more Ukrainians have arrived fleeing the Russian invasion.
