Hallam FC was founded in the Plough pub adjacent to the ground. The pub has been closed for several years. Hallam 3 Brigg Town 2, Northern Counties East League Division One, at Sandygate. After heavy rain, the pitch was declared playable after volunteers worked on it, on the morning of the game. Hallam won 3-2 to go top of the division in front of a record crowd of 1128.
