Visiting goalkeeper Kelland Absalom receiving treatment during the first-half as Flint Town United play Penybont in a Cymru Premier fixture at Cae-y-Castell, the home club’s home ground since 1993, the year they also became founder members of the League of Wales. The club were founded in 1886 as Flint F.C. and made an early impression by reaching the first Welsh Amateur Cup final in 1890–91, losing to Wrexham Victoria 4–1. This game, against their opponents from Bridgend, south Wales, ended 1-1, watched by 260 spectators, and was played on the club’s newly-laid astroturf pitch. Photo by Colin McPherson
