Wakefield AFC v Louth Town, Northern Counties East League Division One

Wakefield AFC was founded in 2019. After running into financial difficulties during Covid, an American company V02 Capital acquired a majority shareholding, and paid off the club’s existing debts. The club play home matches at Belle Rue Stadium, the Be Well Stadium for sponsorship purposes, also the home of Wakefield Trinity Rugby League Club. In March 2024 Junior Roberto was appointed First team Manager. A 4-1 win over Louth took Wakefield top of the Northern Counties East League Division One on goal difference. Due to high rainfall over winter, many of the teams below Wakefield have games in hand. The end of season play offs are the most likely route if Wakefield are to be promoted. Photo by Paul Thompson.
