Sheffield Wednesday visited Hartlepool United early in their first season in the third tier of English football. Despite a 0-5 victory the 2010-11 season turned out to be the low point (so far) in Wednesday's history. They finished 15th in League One, one place ahead of Hartlepool, before being promoted the following season. The attendance of 4,084 was a seasons high for Hartlepool. After relegation to League Two in 2013, Hartlepool were relegated to the National League in 2017.
