Formed in 1878, the home club has played on the site of their current ground since two years after their formation and are best known for their world record 36-0 victory in a Scottish Cup tie against Bon Accord in 1885. Formed in 1952, Bamber Bridge, which is owned by a community organisation, merged with Walton-le-Dale FC in 1974 and moved to their current ground in 1983. Due to the partial lifting of Coronavirus restrictions, 3692 Kilmarnock fans were in Rugby Park to see their team win 2-0. The game was shown live on BBC Scotland.

86 imagesThe Football Welcomes project is run by the Middlesbrough Football Club Charity, MFC Foundation, and aims to help refugees and asylum seekers integrate. As part of the project MFC Foundation run a weekly session for female players at an outdoor football centre in the town. Football Welcomes is funded through Amnesty UK and is a partnership between MFC Foundation, The Methodist Asylum Project (M.A.P) and the North Riding FA. The aim is to offer a welcoming community to those seeking refuge and asylum in Middlesbrough and the surrounding area. Football Welcomes use the power of the football club to engage with participants and offer English embedded football sessions and other volunteering opportunities at the Foundation and the football club. Middlesbrough Football Club offer great support to the programme donating football kit, equipment and tickets to 1st team matches. Over the last year the programme has engaged with over 120 participants from over 25 different countries.

The home club were formed in 1883 and have played in local and regional football ever since, whilst the visitors were formerly one of the leading non-League clubs in England before a move from their St. George's Lane ground in 2013 started a downward spiral in their fortunes. Hallam won 3-2 to go top of the division in front of a record crowd of 1128. Sandygate is the oldest continually used football ground in the world. Hallam FC have played there since 1860.

The home club were formed in 1949 by John Dennett, who at the age of 97 still lives in a house within the ground’s perimeter. Ashville, who have only previously won the League once before, drew this game 0-0, watched by a crowd of 70 spectators, to remain one point ahead of rivals Mersey Royal at the top of the table, in what will be their last season before being promoted to the North West Counties League after their facilities were approved.
