The tournament was held over from 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic and featured 24 teams playing at venues across Europe. The visitors won this Group D match 2-0, watched by a restricted capacity crowd of just under 10,000. Photos by Colin McPherson.

People in Manchester watching the final of the 2020 Men's European Football Championships between England and Italy which was played at Wembley stadium in London. The match was relayed on screens in public bars across the city centre. The finals were delayed by a year due to the Covid-19 pandemic, with Italy winning the trophy with a 3-2 victory on penalties after a 1-1 draw. Photos by Colin McPherson.

Images taken outside the Etihad Stadium before Manchester City played Tottenham Hotspur in a Champions League quarter final, second league. The first leg was played the previous week at Spurs' new stadium which they won 1-0. This was the 178th time the sides had met, with City looking to overtake rivals Liverpool in the race for the English Premier League title. City won the match 2-0 watched by 74,431 spectators. 29 imagesFormer Argentina international footballer Pedro Pasculli, the recently-appointed manager of Bangor City. This was the 1986 World Cup winner's 13th management position, having previously been in charge of teams in Albania and the Uganda national teams as well as a host of clubs worldwide. Bangor City competed in the Cymru Alliance, the second tier of Welsh football having been demoted due to financial irregularities at the end of the 2017-18 season. The club was owned by a consortium involving the Vaughan familial but was bought by Italian Domenico Serafino and a group of investors in September 2019.

Fans of Glasgow Rangers gathering in the centre of Manchester to watch the UEFA Cup final against Zenit St. Petersburg on a large screen in Albert Square, the location of one of the UEFA Fan Zones. The match was staged at the City of Manchester Stadium and was won by the Russian team by two goals to nil. It was Rangers' first European final appearance since they won the Cup-Winners Cup in 1972 and around 150,000 fans gathered in Manchester. Photos by Colin McPherson.
